Configuring Your Windows 2000 Server-Based Computer for Daily Virus Checks
If you are using a program such as the Symantec Norton AntiVirus or Cheyenne Innoculan AntiVirus program, check the properties of the antivirus program to determine whether it has scheduling options.
If your virus program does not have scheduling options, you can use the Scheduled Tasks program to schedule your virus program to run daily checks to scan for viruses. To do so:

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools and then click Scheduled Tasks. |

Double-click Add Scheduled Task, and then click Next to start the Scheduled Task Wizard. |

Click the virus program that you want to schedule, and then click Next.
NOTE: You may need to click Browse, and then locate the folder that contains the antivirus program executable file. |

Click the scheduling option under Perform This Task, and then click Next. |

Select the date and time that you want the scan to start, and then click Next. |

Type the name and password of a user, click Next and then click Finish to add the task to the Windows schedule. |

Troubleshooting
If the administrator of the computer has changed the logon password, you must also change the logon password for the scheduled task.
