If you are looking for how to publish a streamed app then first of all you need to create a streaming profile. Once you have done this you need to publish the application which is described here. Once again I assume you have the Enterprise version of Citrix 4.5 installed and the relevant management consoles.

 

If you have used previous versions of Citrix you will know that publishing applications has always been done from the Citrix Management Console. There are certain things that have been moved to the Access Management Console in this latest version and applications is one of them. Luckily it is pointed out to you if you go to the wrong console as you can see below.

1.) Now we know that we should be in the Access Management Console lets open it up. It will probably the bottom icon of your Citrix toolbar. Expand as in the image Presentation server, farm name and applications. You will then see a “Streamed Apps” folder. 

2.) Next you need to enter a name. The clients will see this so try and make it obvious to the end user what it is.

3.) Next you need to select what you want to publish. In this case we are publishing an application and I want it streamed to the client.

4.) You now need to specify the UNC path for the profile you created earlier. This ideally should be stored on a highly available file server and it is important to make sure that the relevant users you are going to publish to have access to this share.

5.) Now we enable offline access. The reason for this is I am publishing to my laptop and I want the application to be available when I disconnect from the network.

6.) Next we add in the users you wish to have access to this application. If adding from a Windows domain you need to add in the format of domain\username .

7.) You now have the option of where you want the application to appear. You can have it appearing in more than one place such as on the start menu and on the desktop. For the purposes of this excercise we will have on the desktop only.

8.) If you don’t want the app available to selected users immediately you can disable it in the next section. I want it available immediatel however to ensure its working. Click finish.

9.)  you should now see your application under the streamed apps folder. You can edit any changes you want to it from here.

Now all that needs to be done is to install the streaming clienton the relevant PCs and laptops.
